The Hinswood neighborhood of Darien, Illinois has been the proud home of the Hinswood Kahunas Swim Team for over 50 years! Founded in 1973, the Kahunas Swim Team has been a long-standing summertime tradition for the children of this and surrounding neighborhoods. Kids ages 5 up to 18 enjoy daily exercise, teamwork, and the excitement of interconference meets challenging themselves to improve their swimming abilities.
* Note, you do not need to live in Hinswood to join the team.

Our main goal is to provide children with an opportunity to improve their swimming skills and gain confidence while having a ton of fun! Practices are held each weekday morning, Monday through Friday, to improve technique, endurance, strength and speed.

The Hinswood Kahunas compete in the Trident Conference, representing 6 communities in the western suburbs. Swim meets are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, June through mid-July. The swim meets provide children with the chance to demonstrate their skills and compete as a team.

Located in the Darien neighborhood of Hinswood, our pool is surrounded by a beautiful grassy park and two playgrounds, just east of Concord Elementary School. We are just a few minutes from the Cass Avenue exit off of Interstate I55.

Parking - use the parking lot next to Concord School (1019 Concord Place, Darien IL 60561) and walk across the wooden bridge to enter.

New swimmer tryouts will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2024 at 9am at the Hinswood Pool.
Registration for returning swimmers will be held on Tuesday evening, April 29th from 6-8pm at the Hinswood Clubhouse.
